Our Story
The Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT) was founded in 1989, by H.H. Dr. Swami Rama and is registered under the Society Registration Act 1860. HIHT, situated at the foothills of the Himalayas, serves the people of Uttarakhand in the field of health, education, rural development etc. Trust also develops integrated and cost-effective methods to holistic health care, on an ongoing basis.
Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), under HIHT, is among the top private universities in Dehradun which has a rich legacy of Himalayan Hospital & Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, the first and the largest NABH accredited private teaching hospital and medical college of Uttarakhand, SRHU has been providing a platform to the youth, for a decade, to learn and transform into efficient, effective, ethical and committed professionals.

Vice Chancellor
Dr Rajendra Dobhal, the Vice Chancellor of the Swami Rama Himalayan University, is an eminent scientist and a fellow of National Academy of Sciences (NASI) who is credited with creating science infrastructure in Uttarakhand.

Registrar
Professor, Dr. Mukesh Bijalwan, has been associated with Swami Rama Himalayan University since 2013. A born topper since his school days, he consistently achieved first-class honors from secondary school to postgraduate studies.

Rural & Social Endeavorus
SRHU has a rich legacy of community engagement, notably in public health education and active involvement in national health initiatives. Through our network of peripheral health centers and partnerships with NGOs and international organizations, we've significantly transformed healthcare and education delivery in rural areas. Our efforts include establishing mobile libraries in 68 villages across Uttarakhand, regularly awarding scholarships to deserving underprivileged students, and establishing 64 disabled people's organizations at the village level, among various other impactful initiatives.
Built 600+ rain water harvesting tanks.
Constructed toilets for 14000 families, schools & Anganvadi centers.
Provided clean drinking water to 534 villages in far flung areas.
Provided primary & secondary health services to 10,000 people during COVID19 lock down
Delivered Outreach Health Services to 150,000 people and provided mobile health care to over 10,000 people.
Served over 2000 villages in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Orissa for health, education, water & sanitation and livelihood.
Benefitted 204,663 women & 23,630 children through Mother Child Health programs
