The department of Pulmonary Medicine deals with a gamut of diseases that involve the lungs, airways, mediastinum, pleura, diaphragm and the chest wall. This department is well-equipped to deal with preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, emergency and rehabilitative aspects of Pulmonary Medicine to provide quality and comprehensive care for patients.

Our department, the only center for management of Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR) in Uttarakhand in the last many years, has facilities of daily OPD, IPD services, and round the clock emergency services. The department is further supported by Laboratory / Imaging / Pharmacy / Blood bank services along with other super specialities including oncology. Pulmonary department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology / equipment to perform procedures / tests such as Pulmonary Function Testing, Bronchoscopy with facilities for BAL, Brush, TBNA, TBLB, foreign body removal, diagnostic and therapeutic intervention (electro-cautery, brachycannula insertion etc.), Medical Thoracoscopy, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, DOTS and DOTS PLUS services, Non-invasive ventilation, Respiratory ICU.
